Dental Veneers

Coweta Family Dental is proud to offer dental veneers to patients in Coweta and the surrounding areas of Oklahoma. People who have relatively minor dental imperfections may want to consider correcting them with Veneers. Consisting of a composite resin material, Veneers are capable of changing the appearance of your teeth, while looking natural at the same time.

Veneers can be a good choice whenever there are small gaps between the teeth, as composite resin helps to fill in these spaces. They can also be ideal for people who have chipped or broken teeth, or find their teeth to be slightly misaligned. People who grind their teeth may eventually end up with uneven teeth and veneers can help rectify this condition. Those who have severely stained teeth can also benefit from having Veneers placed on them as whitening may not be effective in every situation.

Before creating Veneers, Dr. Katie or Dr. Matt will perform a thorough dental examination. This is done to make sure there are no underlying conditions such as cavities that must be addressed first. During the exam, we will also assess your smile to determine the best course of action to take. Dr. Katie or Dr. Matt may compare the color of your tooth to various sample slides in order to make sure there is a perfect color match.

A local anesthetic is used to numb the area where Veneers will be applied. Next, the tooth will be shaped slightly to allow the resin material to adhere better. Once this is accomplished, the resin material is added to the surface and then hardened with an ultraviolet light. This may need to be done in several stages depending on the desired results. Veneers can normally be applied in a single visit, but those who have them placed in more than one area of the mouth may require multiple appointments.
